Dropshipping and Ecommerce 2.0

OK I want a higher return on my efforts. A higher ROI per sale. So I’m going to turn to dropshipping goods. I will set up a web 2.0 shopping cart system. This is new technology online. Ecommerce 2.0.

I can use all the bum marketing and web 2.0 methods to drive traffic . I’m also excited by the traffictactics info. Much more exciting to initiate a project that can earn $1000 per sale that one that earns you ad”cents” returns.

 Stay tuned.

Success with Goclick - No

Well the click fraud caught me. It pretty much cancelled any profits in my little experiment.

This has made me re-examine something. I took a look at my CJ account to see that my sites have made many ebay affiliate sales over the last few weeks.

Great ? … No ebay pays peanuts. So does adsense. So its crazy to focus on these programs.  I’m going to spend some time hunting high paying programs - with a good volume of demand.

Then I’ll set up on those and promote in earnest.

Success With Goclick

I recently set up a goclick campaign to test adsense arbitrage. I know alot of people have grief with 2nd and 3rd party PPC. So i decided to see for myself.

Goclick has much lower traffic than adwords so you need alot of keywords. I have 12000 keywords promoting a single landing page. Apart from the colours and ad locations the page is not optimized.

The page content is not dynamic so it doesnt match the keyword list and nor do the adsense ads on it. I will try a dynamic page with dynamic ad matching next. That should see my traffic and clickthroughs go way up.

I set my clicks at 1 cent initially and got almost no traffic. Then i set my max bid to five cents to see if the traffic would pick up. I got 50 bogus clicks very quickly. Seeing this i lowered my max bids to 3 cents. Now i have traffic that is clicking my ads.

So its a matter of initially finding a balance between cost per click/click fraud and the amount of traffic. I suspect the fraudsters cant be bothered with the cheaper clicks.

Right now i only have channels set up on this but will apply some tracking scripts and use dynamic tags next.

Traffic for Testing

Lets talk about traffic. You cant do any testing without it. And you need alot of it. So what are the options ?

Well the best kind of traffic in my opinion is the traffic you directly control. Most people say the best traffic is organic search engine traffic.
Think about it though. How much control do you have over that free SEO traffic ? Very little or none is the answer.
Whats more it takes time to build that traffic up. Alot of time and alot of work.

What you want for testing is traffic you can turn on at will. PPC or Optin traffic. You can either turn on a PPC campaign or send out a mailing to a list. These are the two simplest and quickest methods to “control” the traffic to your target.

SEO takes a long time to do. You had best outsource alot of the work to do it efficiently too. So worth while large scale SEO traffic isnt free anyway. People talk about massive action and building thousands of feeder sites and blog networks.

Well how about massive action building a massive optin email list from which you can syphon targeted traffic at the press of a button. This is alot more useful.

PPC is the other appealing option. PPC is not the easy game it once was. There are Google adwords, Yahoo, and MSN at the first tier. GoClick, Enhance Interactive, Search123, Searchfeed and many others represent the second and third tier.
Presently opportunities for cheap traffic from google adwords do still exist but not without work.

The second and third tier PPC companies dont offer reliable click fraud prevention like adwords does, none the less they will deliver traffic that can be tested and they will reimburse you if your records show clickfraud has occured. Lets face it at one cent a click there is nothing to loose.

You need to master PPC and list building to feed your testing activities.
